Easily accessible psychological care near the patient, individually or through group sessions – adapted to local needs.
The INAMI agreement with regard to first-line psychological care, allows to increase the population’s access to this type of care, both in terms of start-up of care and in terms of price. This care is mainly intended for children, adolescents and adults who are part of the most vulnerable groups of the population, including those who were most affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
Sessions can take place individually or in groups, in a cabinet, digitally (remotely), but especially also in a place that is adapted to the situation of people who have to deal with a multitude of vulnerability factors (‘outreach’ work via sites). The first session is free for the patient, after that the patient’s contribution is €11 (or €4 for those entitled to the increased allowance) for individual sessions or €2.5 for group sessions.
Social, cultural or care organizations can enter into an agreement with the regional mental healthcare networks and – in addition to the tasks they already fulfill today – also provide psychological care as referred to in the agreement.
scope
The first-line psychologists (FLP) work throughout the Brussels region. In collaboration with the regional mental healthcare networks, HERMESplus regularly organizes local consultations with all partners involved to further roll out the RIZIV-INAMI agreement in 1000 Brussels, Molenbeek and Anderlecht.
How to refer? How to start a collaboration with a psychologist in a specific location? How to deploy yourself as a psychologist (or remedial educationalist) as a self-employed person or in employment? You will find more information about FLP in our newsletter of June 2022, at www.psybru.be/professionals and on RIZIV webpagina voor professionals[FV1].

Easily accessible first-line psychological healthcare in your neighbourhood
Everyone has the right to access psychological care as soon as the need arises. Access should be easy and available as soon as possible.
This is why INAMI (the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance) takes in charge the most important part of the price for sessions held by psychologists who signed the “first line psychological healthcare” convention. These psychologists are available near you, not only in their usual consultation spaces but also in places that you frequently visit.
You should have regular Belgian healthcare insurance in order to benefit from this reimbursement scheme. There are no other administrative steps to take. Contact a psychologist on one of the lists you can find on www.psybru.be and take a document with your national number (e.g. ID card) to the appointments. Do check the languages spoken by the psychologists on the list. They can also ask for an interpreter.
The first session is free of charge. For the next ones, you pay 11€ per individual session (4€ for those entitled to the increased allowance) and 2.5€ per group session.
First-line psychologists (FLP) work throughout the Brussels Region. Below is a map indicating primary care psychologists who only work with adults (in blue) and psychologists who work with children and young people (in yellow). Most of the latter also work with adults.
You will find the complete contact details of the Brussels psychologists on www.psybru.be
You can find more information about FLP on the INAMI patient webpage: Primary and specialized psychological care in a network for mental health care : Eerstelijns en gespecialiseerde psychologische zorg in een netwerk voor geestelijke gezondheidszorg (or on this link in French) and for the Brussels region on www.psybru.be.
